Katwish is Katie Griffiths!

Katie takes commissions for imaginative portraits of children, pets, and flamboyant individuals! She is passionate about creating beautiful images that capture personal stories. She works with her clients ideas and adds Katwish flair to make utterly original artworks. Katie uses bold colours, pattern and 3D fabrics. Her unique blend of oil paint and fibre art make her images striking and tactile.

Katie also works in collaboration with stencil artist, sicandotoo (on Instagram). Together they create powerful works bursting with energy and colour. They are inviting commissions for bespoke artworks in this style.

Background: Katie has a lifetime’s career in the arts. As co – founder of the puppet company, “Wishworks” Katie made puppets and sets; toured shows and ran workshops for children in puppet making and storytelling.

She worked in community art; initiating, co–ordinating and inspiring community events. Also constructing giant costumes and sculptures for processions, and making props for window displays and theatre.

“Katie designed and made a series of appliqué hangings for our puppet theatre. The result was wonderful. The universal reaction of people when they walk into the space is, “WOW!”
Children love the details of animals and insects. Katie makes magical art and she is a joy to work with.”
